Start a project from a brief

Create a project, write its brief, add a site and open the workspace.

Every BIMIQ project starts with a brief. The brief is what the agent reads first, so the more it says about use, capacity, site and priorities, the better the first design.

Before you start

You need a BIMIQ account and an organization. If you have just signed up, finish onboarding first; it creates your organization.

Create the project

Open a new project

From Home or Projects, choose Create project. You can also start from a template on the Templates page.

Name it

Give the project a name of at least 3 characters. You can rename it later from the project name at the top left of the workspace.

Describe what the building should do: the spaces it needs, how many people it serves, the site and anything that must not change. A brief needs at least 20 characters, but a few sentences work far better.

Add a site and files

Use Choose location to set where the project is, or Import site to bring in a site file. Use Attach files for documents, requirements or reference images.

Create it

Choose Create project. BIMIQ saves the project and opens the workspace in the Research phase.

What you should see

The workspace opens with your project name at the top left and four phases across the top: Research, Design, BIM and Present.

Common problems

"Add a little more detail to your brief." The brief is shorter than 20 characters.
"Your project could not be saved." Nothing was created. Check your connection and choose Create project again.
